A colorless to white crystalline solid and is water soluble. Sulphamic acid is used as an acidic cleaning agent, typically for metals and ceramics for the removal of rust. In households, it is often found as a descaling agent in detergents, cleaners and toilet cleaners for the removal of limescale.
Uses: A catalyst for esterification process, in the manufacture of dye and pigments, a herbicide, in denture tablets, a coagulator for urea-formaldehyde resins, in fire extinguishing material, a chloride stabilizer in the pulp and paper industry, in the synthesis of nitrous oxide, and in household cleaning products.
